“Working with Patrick as a coach off and on over the past few years has been a blessing to both my running and my attitude. His belief in me is what keeps me going. He knows what I am capable of well before I actually do it. While I wish he was local so I can hear him yell “go” on the track, we have been able to work together well from afar. In my last marathon, I cut 35 minutes off my time. I finished uninjured and ready for more. He is encouraging, honest and has adapted my training to my own personal needs. I am thankful I have been able to work with him as a coach and a friend.”

“Patrick Merle has been my cycling coach for more than year. When we started to work together I was a senior rider at 56, living in Copenhagen, and I wanted to use the many hours in spent on my sport in a more efficient way and at the same to improve my cycling in general. Patrick set up a program and a training plan for me and here are the major benefits I have achieved from our cooperation so far:

  • Always knowing which workouts to do for the next days and at the same time knowing that the workouts are part of an overall plan
  • Getting fast feedback from Patrick – often on a daily basis – and always in very supportive way
  • Many good advices regarding the several training issues we have discussed
  • On a 20-minutes all-out test I have improved the average watt 15% and my personal record climbing the Mount Ventoux improved with 13 minutes!

I will certainly recommend Patrick as a very professional coach.
Henrik F., Copenhagen, Denmark.

“As a lifelong runner, triathlon was very intimidating. Patrick’s coaching enabled me to conquer the water as well as the bicycle. More importantly, the personalized Training Bible sessions helped me squeeze the most out of my limited time. My swim, bike AND run times all improved dramatically and I finished Ironman Louisville 2009 under my goal time. A pretty darn good year!”

“I am 56, based in the South of France and I started working with Patrick in October last year because I had reached a plateau and decided it was time to make real progress in my French endurance road biking events –  typically 150km+ in the mountains.

Patrick was attentive to my objectives, constraints and capabilities and established a structured and enjoyable program, to the extent that he has motivated me to increase my training hours by over 10%. The program has been clearly periodized and this has kept me interested and motivated through the long winter period. Undoubtedly my performance has increased significantly and I can now climb for extended periods 20% faster than a year ago. With the race season underway, I am looking forward to A races and working closely with Patrick to get the best results.

Patrick’s experience and skill set enable him to see the bigger picture and this has improved my mental approach and technical skills. Working with Patrick has definietly improved my performance, taught me a lot and increased my enjoyment.
Keith J., Menton, France

“When I met Patrick I could not run three miles, and after training with him I was able to run a half marathon!!  He taught me so much about form and how to schedule the runs.  I especially appreciate his emphasis on staying injury free.  He gave a variety of workouts, including speed, hills, tempo, and core. Although I was not a good listener he encouraged time off to keep me strong and efficient. I have been able to use what he has taught me to improve my running and to help others.  I will forever be touched by having him as my coach and friend!”
Sue M., Indiana, USA
